Strictly Success!

Strictly Dancing Logo

On the 8th and 9th October 2010 Merchants Academy in Withywood was host to its own version of Strictly Come Dancing this weekend as a number of well-known Bristol business leaders raised money for Young Bristol.

Led by professional partners, the ten businessmen and women trained over several months, each choosing to learn either Ballroom or Latin.  Due to high demand for tickets, they competed over two nights in front of an audience of over 550 people.

As well as being great fun, and what some described as "the best charity event they'd been to", the event raised over £40,000 for a great cause.

Before the event James Durie, a Director at GWE Business West said "The event is really about entertaining the audience and raising money for a great cause.  None of us are natural dancers, so expect to see a few red faces as we take to the floor!”
