Run Outdoor Activities
Young Bristol provide adventurous outdoor activities for young people from our commercially licensed activity centre at Pooles Wharf in central Bristol.
Situated on Bristol’s historic floating harbour in Hotwells, this magnificent setting gives access to the most popular watersports location in the city. From the centre, we are just a few minutes away from climbing in Avon Gorge or mountain biking in Ashton Court, and the Mendip Hills are about 20 minutes by minibus, offering caving and gorge walking.
The first floor training and conference facility is also available for hire by business and other organisations.
Activity Sessions
We provide half-day sessions of a wide range of outdoor activities for groups of young people. Sessions can be booked individually for a one-off activity for a youth group or birthday party, or in blocks for regular activities. Sessions generally last for two and a half hours, and can accommodate up to eight young people, but we will always be as flexible as we can be to accommodate the needs of each group, provided we can do it safely.

Leadership, Skills and Personal Development Courses
We deliver a number of bespoke courses for clients including South Gloucestershire schools, City of Bristol College and The Princes Trust. We combine a variety of outdoor activities, community volunteering and classroom-based teaching to create the outcomes that are required, over anything from a week to a year's course. Pooles Wharf Activity Centre is registered with The Adventure Activities Licensing Authority (AALA) as licensed to provide specified activities under the following headings:
- Climbing
- Caving
- Trekking
- Watersports
